Andrew came to us after being told he’d likely need foot surgery due to a painful bone coalition — a condition that caused him severe, sprain-like pain even after just 20 minutes of walking. The proposed surgery would have required up to 24 weeks of recovery, possibly even involving a wheelchair.
As a final option, his doctor suggested trying custom insoles. After some research, Andrew found Dr Insoles — and everything changed.

A few months back a doctor said I’d have to have surgery due to a bone coalition on my right foot that was causing me severe, sprain-like pain even after walking 20 minutes. I turned to Gary at Dr Insole after the pain in my knees and back had become almost constant and my only regret is that I didn't do it a long time ago!
I have had a whopping 2cm difference between my legs since I was young and am also very flat footed on my right foot. I had tried for 10 years to find a solution through the NHS both with physical modifications to the soles of my shoes and inserts but I couldn't find anybody who was able to spend the time with me to really work the problem through.
Right from the start of working with Gary I was so pleased and impressed with his determination to solve the problem for me, to create an insert with a 2cm raise is right at the limit of what is technically possible but thankfully Gary was up for the challenge and worked for months to get it right.
I ordered the foam inserts which provide more cushioning so I hope will protect my knees more over the long run, I haven't worn them for long yet but I instantly feel more stable and comfortable using these insoles and most importantly Gary has managed to get the arch support and taper from the sole to the toes right so my weight feels like it is travelling down my foot correctly and therefore my foot is no longer collapsing at the ankle which it did frequently with my previous inserts.
I cant recommend Gary highly enough and I have attached a picture of my insole in case anybody is in any doubt about how extreme the challenge was!
I went to see Gary after I had sciatica for several months and physio had not cured it.
Gary was very friendly, thorough and professional in his manner and he helped explain how his insoles will help me. Well his insoles have been so good, I am suffering way less and I believe in time I may not need physio anymore.

I was having problems getting an NHS appointment for my daughter to get new insoles for her flat feet. Her last NHS insoles had been disappointing and not as good as previous pairs. Gary took time to assess, measure and fit with great care and attention to my daughter's feedback and then had them ready early so that she had them for her holiday.
